January 8, 1959 DISTRICT COURT NEWS Schreiber Magistrate!s Court held at 11,00 A.M. on December 30th, 1958. Magis- rate T,A, Connor presiding. Gordon Ruterin, Court Clerk, A Schreiber youth was fined $75.00 and costs when convig¢ed on a second offense of obtaining ligusr while still.a minor. An additional. fine, $16.00 and costs was devied against the same youth on a drunk charge. Prov.Constable K, Scott was the investigating officer. Raymond Bibeau of no fixed address was charged with breaking and entering the Hudson's Bay Company store at Mani touwadge on December 27th. The accused pleaded guilty and, after hearing the evidence of Prov, Constable B.J. Hearding of the Man- itouwadge Detachment, was sentenced to _ three months in Port Arthur District Jail. Marathon Magistrate's Court, held at 2,00 P.M. December 30th, 1958, Russell Miller of Reise posted bail amounting to $25.00 and costs on a charge of having liquor in a place other than - his residence. Prov.Constable F.J.John- son, Regan Detachment investigated. Albernie Jionet, no fixed abode was sentenced to fifteen days in Port Arthur District Jail when convicted on a charge of being intoxicated in a public place. - Constable S. In the few short weeks left between now and the Carnival would the mothers please remind the children of practise sessions held each week, Thursday 4-5,30 P.M. and Saturday morning 8.30 to 11.30 A.M. In that way only can we have a successful Carnival. Dues for second half of the figure skating sessions will be accepted by Mrs. Duncan who is in attendance at the Arena. These dues are payable by January 19th, CURLING NEWS * OLSEN RINK TO REPRESENT TERRACE BAY Ole Olsen, Jim MacDonald, Len Crockford and Howard Solly will represe snt Terrace Bay in the zone playoffs in Red Rock on January 3lst-Feb.1lst. In a best of five series, the Olsen rink won three straight against Paul Boudreat, Rune Ostling, Hec McLeod and Barry King. The final game on Saturday night was a nip and tuck affair. Olsen was three up coming home but Bou- dreau liad four afeely guarded counters in the house when Olsen came up to throw'His last rock. From all reports a good time was had by all.
