SCHREIBER CIRCULATION - TERRACE RAY & SCHREIBER LIONS MAKE PRESENTATIONS The Schreiber Lions made two pre sent- ations on December 19th of foremost importance to both the neighbouring communities of Schreiber and ferrace Bay, and the immediate district. The first .was a gift of a Meleo Oxygen Tent to. the Terrace Bay Private Hospitai, This tent is one of the latest and best iceless . models, and will be a great asset to patients in need of oxygen therapy, and since. the hospital did not possess such equipment, it will be appreciated by the steff who are noted for their care and cor.cern of their patients, HR. M, Ermel, president of the Lions, formally presented the gift to Dr.D.J.M, McCausiand, chief of Staff, and it was accepted with deep appreciation by E, J, Brady, chairman of the Board, The second presentation was made in Schreiber, Reeve D'Arcy accepting the, gift of an inhalator to be used in the town ambulance -- Mr, Ermel making this present- ation also, Both Mr, Brady and Mr, D'Arcy warmly commended the Lions on their choice, the concern for others evidenced in the . selecting of such gifts giving them an added significance and making the gesture one of which the Lions may well be proud, _ The other Club members who accompan- ied Mr, Ermel for the brief ceremonies included Pete Hrynyk, Bob. Skinner, Ford Richardson, Roly Gander, Neil Ross, Jack Ridsdale, Campbell Mayne and Jack Graham, SUPERIORS DROP. THREE "AWAY FROM HOME" GAMES __ ~~ Ending a hectic week of hockey from . Sun. Dec.14th to Sun, Dec,.21st in which only ~ one gaime was played on home ice and a near 400 miles piled up in travel, Superiors car chalk up only one win and that on home ice against Nipigon with a 9-1 victory. Marathon on Tuesday humbled them 10-5, Nipigon Thursday revenged themselves & came out on top 8-5, Red Rock, meeting Supericrs for the first time this year ,on Sunday, edged ahead 4-3, | It would be nice to say that Superiors won each of the games but it's also good to see hockey being well played with evenly matched teams & this year that is just how the League has shaped up. Dean E,A, Gallagher, who was recently elevated to the office of Dean by His Excell- ency, Bishop E,Q, Jennings. Representatives from the local parish and missions were in attendance 'at the presentation table and spoke enthusiastically of the zeal of their Pastor. Dean Gallagher, In his few words, Rev, Father Fournier, Schreiber, explained to those assembled of the honours and duties of a Dean in the Church, thusly creating a Deanery, and very humourously and warmly brought congratulations from the ~ Parish in Schreiber, . Mrs. C.W. Todesco paid. a glowing tribute to the work being done in the Rossport Mission, Mr. Dan Gillis speaking for the Terrace Bay Parish drew parishioners attention to. the honcur given in this appoint- ment. | Miss Rhea Leclair, Terrace Bay High School student, gave the address expressing the heart= felt gratitute of the parishioners to their © Dean for the diligent and fruitful labour in the care of souls, and added, "You have brought honour 'to our parish and impressed on us our.
