Remember to bring along your Betty Crocker box tops to the meeting, Our two travelling nurses, Nancy Bisch and Joan Colling returned to Terrace Bay on October 23rd reporting a wonderful summer of travel through Europe. Leaving New York aboard the S,S,America on August lst they landed in France and toured Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Irene Ed- monds joined them for their last month of holi- days and together they travelled the British Isles returning aboard the Hnnre ss of France to Montreal and home, While on an assignment to.Terrace Bay last week Vernon Kehler and Clifford Poulin of Port Arthur were guests of Mr.& Mrs.Bruce Larson, Mr.& Mrs.G.Artist and Mr.& Mrs,K, Browning of Fort William visited last weekend with Mr. and Mrs,Sax Lundberg. Mr.Michael Miller retired October 15th from his position at the Post Office where he had been employed for the past six years, A,family dinner marked the occasion at the home of his daughter, Mrs.J,Wellings and during the evening he was presented with a purse. Mr.Miller plans to travel for the present, visiting sons in the East, a sister in Connecticut and eventually make his home in Saskatchewan. NORTH SHORE NURSES ASSOC, MEET IN MARATHON ' The regular meeting of the North Shore farses Association was held in the Wilson Memorial Hospita}], Marathon, on October 28th. Mrs,R,Biesenthal, Terrace Bay Mill Nurse, introduced the guest speaker, Miss S,A.Wallace, Consultant of the Industrial Nursing Division of Industrial Hygiene, Toronto, An account of the history of occupational health nursing in Canada, stretching over fifty years, with the first nurse hired in 1908, was given by Miss Wallace, who is herself the first consult- ant appointed in Canada, in 1943, Some other provinces also have consultants' but 'Ontario has the greatest number in Canada, Miss Wallace's talk was both informa- tive and engrdsing as she explained her 'work as consultant in assisting nurses en- gaged 'in occupational] health nursing, The N.S.N.A, President, Mrs,F,Zettler, thanked Miss Wallace, (Cont'd Page 4)
