MORE ABOUT PAVING FOR TERRACE BAY The Board of Trustees has received notifica- tion from the Minister of Fighways that the Department has reconsidered their decision to allow subsidy on only Font Garry Road and Lakeview Blvd, The Department now states that they will subsidize curbing and paving on Kenogami Road as well as the other two streets. The difficulty now will be to <ot a paving contractor to carry out the work this year, last year's contractor moved lis equipment out of town last month when the prospect for paving was economically unattractive and it is very costly to move it in again, However, the contract for curbing has already been let to Cebrario and Sons of Schreiber who will start work imuacdiately on curbize for these streets, It is considered likely that a contractor can be found who will carry out paving work early next year if not this Fall, A contract for painting the Public School and the High School has been let to Turcotte of Port Arthur who has already started work on these buildings. The heating system in the Public School has heen brought into good operating condition by a qualified local instrument mechanic, TOWN PAINT UP In addition to the above a number of Company owned houses in Terrace Bay are presently be- ing given afresh coat of paint and so is the Hotel Terrace, All in all a lot.of work will be accomplished this summer to maintain and improve the town!s appearance, Minor League practices, International League - Sat. at 10:00 AM, American League = Mon, & Fri. 4:30 P.M, National League - Sat, 11:00 A & Wed. 4:30 Midgets - Tuc, & Thurs. 4:30 PM PY. Marathon 5 - kh, Last Tuesday at Marathon the local Juweniles came out, on the short end of a 5~ score at Marathon in a thrilling contest. The Terrace boys took first blood with a'first inning run and built the margin to 3-1 by the 6th, In the last of the sixth, however, the Marathoners plated 3 runs and.took a 4-3 lead. Terrace Bay tied the score in the seventh but lost it in the bottom of that inning when another Marathon run was scored. The locals showed some fine baseball but were handi- capped by the absence of several of their better bitters. The turnout of players, 9 in all, was very disappointing to Coach Jack Phillips, who has put in many hard hours trying to whip the boys in' shape. Marathon comes to Terrace for a return game on Tuesday,-and Coach Jack is confident of a victory Lineup for Terrace: D,Moore, B,Marquis, R.Saless: C.Knauff, D.Wheeler, B,Adamo, I, laniewieh, Tookenay, Dejonghe, More Minor Games This Week.
