Ye SQETBALL (cont!2) SHIFT 4 HAMMERS SALARY 13 =- 9 IN SLUGFEST - MONDAY JUNE 9TH Shift 4 scored their first win of' the season as they hammered out a 13-9 decision over Salary ina high-scoring hit-filled contest. A shaky Salary squad could not quite contend with a better fielding Shift 4 squad. From the start, Shift 4 showed they were out to win as Crockford reached lst on an error, FPytyck doubled with Kolody and Pollard .: singling. All four scored to give Shift 4 an early lead, Salary got one back in the 2nd when Moziar reached lst on a fielder's choice and scored on a fielder's choice. Another run scored for Salary in the 3rd as Chopty doubled, scoring on Hanley's single. It was then in the 3rd that Shift 4 broke the game apart as 5 runs scored on singles by Pollard, Whalen, and Pytyck, 2 errors, and a triple by Crockford, with another run by Shift in the 4th as Nicol singled in Pollard. 'Salary got 2 more in the 6th as Moziar and Marcella singled and were brought in by singles from Calder and Pattison. Shift 4 got 3 more back as Whalen singled, LeBlanc got on through an error and Dooley doubled with all three scoring on errors. _ Salary then put up a rally which was too little and too late as 5 runs scored when Campbell singled and scored on Hanley's double. Moziar then tripled to score Hanley and scored on a wild pitch. Marcella then walked, scoring on Calder's double, Calder then scored on errors. For Shift 4, Pollard turned in a good effort on the mound as he received good support. (Pytyck, Pollard, Whalen and Nicol paced the attack with 2 hits apiece and Follard scoring 3 runs. Crockford's triple was the longest blow for Shift 4, For Salary, Hanley and Calder each banged out 3 hits, including a double apiece.
