TERRACE AGAIN SPLITS WEEK_END BILL -- "MORO, HANSEN & The Terrace Bay squad journeyed to the Lakehead for 'their first road trip of the Season and came back with a split in games. On Saturday nite in an abbreviated contest at McKellar Park the T.B.ers turned back the F.W. East Ends by a 6 -- 3 count: behind the 6-hit pitching of ace Jim Moro. Sunday despite a 14 strike- out effort by newcomer Larry Lasarge they. booted away an early lead and succumbed to a 7-5 defeat at the hands of the Port arthur giants at the stadium. The results left Terrace bay in third place and gave indica- tions that should they play the kind of ball they are capable of they will be real contenders in this, their initial season in the Lakehead Baseball association, . Saturday nite at McKellar Park the T: Bers showed from the start that. they were out. to win. In the top of the 15st, Hanley got on first base on a Fielder's choice and went to 3rd on Marvin Osmar's double. He then scored on a wild pitch by Scavarelli, the E.E. pitcher. The next 2 men were retired. In the 4th another singleton was scored when Marvin Osmar was hit by the pitcher, and singled in by brother Maurice. In these 4 innings Moro and Co. had been, retiring the East Enders without trouble. It was then in the 4th that. most of the night's scoring took place.
