Vol. 13, No. 23 SENIOR BASEBALL --- SUNDAY WEST FORT VS TERRSCE BAY Sunday afternoon will mark another first in sports for Terrace Bay. aA baseball team from Terrace will part- icipate in an organized Senior League. The league is the Lakehead Senior Base- ball League and besides Terrace, is composed of the Fort William teams known as the West Fort and East Ends and the Fort arthur teams known as the Ked Sox and Husky-Giants. The opening attraction Sunday afternoon will find the Terrace Bay team opposed by the Fort William West Fort team, There will be a double-header (2 games) between these two teams with the first game scheduled to start at 1:15 p.m. and the second game 15 minutes after the completion of the first game. Both games will be 7 inning affairs. Last year the West Fort team won the regular season play in the Lakehead league but lost out in the playoffs to the Fort Arthur Ked Sox. The entire West Fort team is back again this year with some new additions. The Terrace team is an untried team and will have to be able to play good ball to win from this calibre of opposition. Opening day ceremonies will take place just before the start of the first game. Local dignitaries will be introduced, as will any officials of the league from the Lakehead who are in attendance - John Ferrier, Chairman of the Improvement District, bob Shirriff, Mill Manager, and Bert katchford, Kecreation Committee Chairman will serve as the opening battery and batter.
