Hacquoil, lead, captured first- place honours in the Terrace Bay Ladies 4th Annual Bonspiel, held on March 28th, 29th, and 30th. The Murphy rink: defeated rinks from Chapleat, Terrace Bay, Schreiber _and Fort William, in that order, to take ist prize in the first event. Second prize in the lst event went to Bessie Gerry's Fort William rink, with 3rd prize going to Freda Duggan's rink from Schreiber, and 4th prize to the Graham. rink from Mani touwadge. The second event was won by Ollie Kross of Marathon and her rink of M. Blois 3rd, G. Kapitan 2nd, and £. Graham lead. Second prize in the second event went to the Van Koughnett rink of Schreiber, with 3rd prize to the Arthurs rink-of Heron bay South, and 4th prize to the Reith rink of Fort William. _, The 3rd event was won by Betty Bouchard's rink of Terrace Bay, with Audrey Rowley 3rd, Louisé Smith 2nd, and Evelyn Shivas, lead, The Jouchard rink was the only Terrace Bay pans Out (of 7 competing to survive the first two days of play. The Bouchard rink defeater the McArthur rink from Fort William to win 'lst prize in the 3rd event. The McArthur rink took 2nd prize,with the Morin rink of Chapleau taking 3rd prize and the Cassidy: rink of Fort William 4th prize. With 23 rinks competing, composed of rinks from Fort William, Schreiber, Beardmore, Chapleau, Manitouwadge, Marathon, Heron Bay South, and Terrace Bay, the Bonspiel once again was a huge success, "Inthe: Saturday night draw for the clock radio, Nancy Bisch of Terrace Bay had her -- ticket drawn by Mrs. Marquis of Terrace Bay. 'nagratulations to Nancy on winning this veautiful radio, skipped by Freda (cont'd next col.) LADIES BINSPIEL (cont'd) On Saturday night the Bonspiel Banquet was held at Hotel Terrace and an enjoyable evening was had by all. Ev Garvin provided the music for the Sing-song and several of the curlers contributed to the fun with skits, amusing stories and recitations. Free coffee and doughnuts were supplied to the curlers on Sunday by Aggie Sinkins and her conmittee of Marj.
