LIBRARY NEWS The World of Suzie Wong - Richard Mason Suzie Wong's world is the waterfront of Hong Kong, and particularly the shady little hotel, the Nam Kok, where she and her colleagues provide brief companionship for sailors of many nations, Robert Lomax, a young painter, takes up residence at the Nam Kok because it is cheap and its habitues an endless source of interest and inspiration. . Between Robert and Suzie a curious relationship develops. His problem, what to do about this wayward and wilful little Oriental, is matched by hers, what to make of this amused and apparently disinterested Westerner, whose love appears capable of so much giving for so little asking. The World of Suzie Wong is a very moving love story.
