The final outcome of the standings in the North Shore Hockey League were not decided until the final whistle of the game played at Nipigon Tuesday night between Red Rock Royals and Nipigon Flyers. The win by Royals jumped them up the ladder to second spot leaving Superiors third and the Flyers low team. The game also determined the leading scorer of the year. Herman Manilla boosting his points one higher than those held by Whalen and Osmar of: Superiors. Play-offs will now be between Marathon, league leaders, and third spot Superiors. Red Rock's second place contingent will battle with the Nipigon Flyers, winners to meet for the league championship. Superiors will invade the Marathon fort Sunday afternoon 1:30 p.m., February 23rd, and again Tuesday 8:30 p.m. for ooening encounters of a three out of five series. The third game will be played on Superior's home ice Thursday and should a fourth game be necessary it will be played on Sunday at Terrace Bay. A tie-up at-four games forces a fifth at Marathon, Spirit is high in the local den, extensive practicing with all lines present has ironed out most of the faults, and a good play off series is in the offing.
