News The regular monthly meeting of the Catholic Women's League was held on June 9th in St. Martin's Church Hall. Father Gallagher read the opening prayer. Minutes of the prev- ious meeting were read and reports of the various committees presented, _ It was decided the Bazaar would be held this spring and a Supper replace the __ Bazaar as 'a Fall event, Letters of thanks and congratulations on the Diocesan Convention were read, Mrs. Helmink, President, thanked all convenors and members for the wonderful help she received, Special thanks to Mrs, Sheila Todd, past president, for the ground work in planning the Convention. Father ' Gallagher also expressed his thanks to the ATTENTION BROWNIES of the Terrace Bay First and Third Packs: There will be a weiner roast at the Mouth of the River on June 22nd from 1] am to 2 p.m. Each Brownie to bring her ow pop and sweets =- weiners and buns will be supplied. Mothers welcome ~ Come and join in the fun and "Lend a Hand", Brownies will meet in front of the Recreation Centre at 11 o'clock sharp, Transportation will be provided. In the event of rain a party will be held in the - large meeting room of the Rec. Centre, ladies for the excellent manner in which they conducted the Convention, Father Gallagher gave a wonderful talk on the Sacred Heart. At the close of the meeting Father Gallagher was surprised with-an envelope and a birthday cake, Any Catholic Family who have not had their homes blessed may leave their name with Father Gallagher, July 2nd is a Holy Day for the Pope and each member should offer up their work and prayers for his intentions.
