Page 6 HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM DEFEATED BY NIPITON HIGH 37-36 Last Saturday afternoon at Nipigon the Terrace Bay Boys High School basketball team lost a thrilling game to Nipigon high by a 37-36 score, This was the first of a home and home series to determine the North Shore champion, Each school won one of the two tournaments played this year, and the champion _is to be determined on a total point basis in < this home and home series, The exact date of the second game in Terrace is unknown at this writing ° The game started fairly fast with Nipigon outscoring Terrace in the lst quarter 15-10, During the second quarter Terrace could not find the basket, and were again outscored 10-4 and Nipigon held a comfortable lead of 25-1, at the half. However, the second half was all Terrace, In the third quarter Terrace counted 10 points to Nipigon's four, and in the fourth quarter they scored 12 points to Nipigon'ts 8, As the final whistle sounded Terrace was still behind by 1 point, but the comeback of our boys in the final half was phenomenal, The top scorers for Terrace were Thomas with 12 points and Boudreau with 10 points, Atwill tallied 12 points for Nipigon while Downey had 1l-and Jackson 10, NIPIGON .- 37 TERRACE 36 Korpi - J Knauff - 3 Erickson - 0 F, Ginn + 2 Jackson - 10. .
