Mazza The Canadian Game for Canadian Youth Hockey: oe Governors Paul £, Boudreau and Don Brearley representing the Terrace Bay Minor Hockey ranks on the North Shore Minor _ Hockey Association were recently elected Co-Directors of the programmes to be conducted locally in observance of YOUNG CANADA HOCKEY WEEK -- February Ath - llth. Page 8 YOUNG CANADA HOCKEY WEEK - Cont'd, Laurent's letter of official backing to this country-wide project. Second Vice-President of the C.A.H.A. and Chairman of its Minor Hockey Committee, Gordon W. Juckes of Melville, Saskatchewan, the man behind the promotion of this drive recently stated "it is evident that the men in charge of minor hockey in centres across the land are solidly behind the observance". Directors Boudreau and Brearley ably assisted by Terrace Bay Minor Hockey League Chairman, Ernie Schock, Con. MacDonald, Ken MacLeod, Jim MacDonald, Hee. McLeod, Scott Mann, Harry Hall, Earl Knight, Joe Cavanaugh, Les Pryor, Tony Fedun, Ron Slattery, Ernie Kettle and Ray Hanson and with the full co-operation of the North Shore (Intermediate) Hockey League through its local Governors Peter E. Mazza and Murdo D. Campbell and the Terrace Bay Recreation Association are devoting their best efforts to bring local residents and those of the dist- rict a memorable day in recognition of the observance of YOUNG CANADA HOCKEY WEEK. Locally, 29 Flyweights, 68 PeeWees, 24 Bantams and 17 school age "hockey greats of to-morrow" are included in the 150,000 or more youngsters play- ing organized hockey across Canada. These 138 young hockey players are to be publicly honoured this coming Sunday. _ Commencing at two o'clock Sunday afternoon (Feb. 10th.) the programme will get. underway in the local arena, During the course of the afternoon's festivities EVERY member of the local minor ranks will perform in the "show" to commemorate the First Annual Youth Honour Day of YOUNG CANADA HOCKEY WEEK. Smiling Jack Little will be at the main ent- rance to welcome the anticipated full house. (Sorry, Jack won't have time to tell any stories). There will be a silver collection, and we wish to point out that all donations, be they small or big, will not only show full endor- sation of this worthy project, but will also give full support to Hockey: The Greatest Game in Canada for the Great- 'Gontia.. on: Pee9
