Page 6 BEAVERS RALLY DOWNS SUPERIORS Those old 3rd period blues are still riding with our Superiors. For two anda half periods the Superiors more than held their own against a big and rugged Fort William Beaver club, but during the last 10 minutes of the game, the Beavers rallied and took full command, The final score was 6-3, the Beavers on top, but Terrace Bay doesn't have to feel bad about this loss. If a team ever looked good in losing, it was the Superiors last Saturday night. From the opening whistle, the 455 fans in attendance, knew they were in for some first class hockey, At 3,08 of the first period Stachiw took a pass from Bond and found the net, for an. early Terrace Bay lead, Less then 4 minutes later Moro on a pass from Marvin Osmar rammed home another goal, and the Superiors were riding high with a 2-O lead. The first period ended 2-1 with the locals leading as J. Irving put the Beavers on the scoreboard, Moro's second goal of the evening gave Terrace Bay a temporary 3-1 lead, but 2 quick goals by the Beavers evened things up and the 2nd period ended 3-3, The first two, periods were jammed with good hockey as the Superiors seldom let Fort William get its attack underway, As the Beavers said after the game, "every- time one of our players got the puck, there were 2 Superiors coming at him,"" The third period was going along good, but when Forslund, on an unassisted effort, scored the Beavers! 5th goal at 10,40, it seemed to take a little something out of our team. During the last 10 minutes, Fort William protected its 2 goal lead and added another goal to bring the final score to 6-3 for the visitors, In the final analysis, there were just too many good big players with the (cont'd next colum) Page 6 Beavers, While they beat us by 3 goals, we were never outclassed and the entire Fort William club left tow with a lot more respect for the Superiors than when they came, The Line Ups: Terrace Bay: Goal - Weaver; Forwards: Moro, Evans, Smith, Osmar, Maurice Osmar, Whalen.
