HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION Though off to a late start, the: Terrace Bay Home.and. School Association are now well - underway with election of officers speedily disposed of, and many plans formulated for the coming season. Mr, Harry Coe, President of the Assoc- iation at its conception, chaired .the meeting lionday evening, October 15th in the absence of Mrs. Harriet Porter, last year's president. Mrs. Hopper asked if the Home and School wouldc sponsor a skate exchange as in the previous seasons. Malcolm Craig and Mrs, Peggy Helmink volunteered to line up some teenavers to assist them with this project. Mr. Ray Kemey, principal of the Sep- arate School outlined his correspondence . with the American Optical Company regard- ing their "School Vision Test" after it had been forcibly brought to his attention the antiquated methods by which the school Nurse had to test eyesight. This test is suitable for the smallest child, including Grade one and Kindergarten. It was decided to bring the kit here for trial purposes by the Medical, Health Officer and School Nurse, Principals of the three).schools then proceeded to introduce to the large gather- ing of parents, the teachers on their staffs.
