You should be theret '.. Page 3 RECREATION FLYER (Cont.) ICE IN THs ARENA As far as the Recreation Committee knows now ice should be ready for a gala public skating opening on Saturday, Oct. 13th. This summer new steps were added out in front of the arena, an escape door was installed in the ice machine room and the _ cement block column which blocked the back aisle in D section has been narrowed. Painting has been done in the arena and you will notice a fancy red stripe which.has been added to the boards at the ice level. The end seats have also been renumbered, On Tuesday afternoon Lauri and Ted Young started both compressors and by the time you read this there should be a start on the arena-ice, | Ice time always brings up the question of reserved seats, ticket prices, etc. We have not yet heard from the North Shore Hockey League about prices but other matters will be settled at a recreation meeting next Wednesday, One thing you can count on however - all reserved seat holders from last year will get first choice of their seats, Full details next week, MINOR HOCKEY NEWS In a very short time our Arena will be ready for hockey. Equipment is being ordered - ice time is being alloted and before we know it the 56-57 Minor Hockey season will be underway, -- This year we have 130 boys registered in ages from 5 years to 18 years, We-have 27 boys in the flyweight group (5«7 years), This group will have their practice time on Saturday morninzs and Steve Brend has again offered his services to look after them. Steve did a very good job with this group last year, In the PeeWee group there are 62 boys registered, This group will be divided into 4 teams and will play a schedule throughout the hockey season (Elsewhere in the "News" you will find a list of the teams and your coaches), Out of these four teams, there will be picked an All-Star team to play against Schreiber and Marathon.
