ea RECIPE OF THE WEEK FLUFFY GINGERBREAD Mix well, then sift: 2 cups sifted flour 1-1/2 ' teaspoons baking soda L/h teaspoon salt: a teaspoon ginger 1 teaspoon cinnamon ib teaspoon cloves Measure into a bowl, then beat: 1/2 cup soft shortening 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed Add: 2 eggs, well beaten Blend well, Add 1/4 of dry ingredients, Add: 3/4 cup molasses Beat until smooth, . Mr, and Mrs. Fred Ford of Pine Falls arrived Saturday to visit for the coming two weeks with their daughter and son-in- law, Kae and Jack Anderson and Debbie, They brought back grandsons, Freddy and Kenney who had spent the summer in Pine Falls. Also visiting at the Anderson home was Mrs. Polly Ford of Fort William for the weekend, Betty and Butch Bouchard are back from their holidays which took in a trip through Milwaukee, Chicago, Detroit where they visited with relatives, and home through the south shore of Lake Superior stopping over in the Lakehead for a few days. Mr. and Mrs, Mel Wright of Port Arthur with daughter Doreen were weekend guests of Bill Jones, Glenna and Jim MacDonald with Hilda.. and Hugh Brophy were in Duluth last week. - Visiting with Mr, and Mrs, John Mikus for the past week have been Mrs. Milus? parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. R. Paterson and son John of New Liskeard, Ontario. Rose and Leo Godin of Geraldton were visiting with Marg and Henry Duriez over the long weekend, They also acted as Godparents for Tommy Duriez at a private Christening held in their home. Mrs. Louis Kiff returned Thursday to her home in Chatsworth, Ontario having visited her daughter Marg Simmer for the past month, Over the long weekend, Mr, and Mrs, Roy Knibbs and family of Fort William visited with the Charlie Simmers, Miss Pat Simmer was guest of honour Thursday, August 30th when a birthday party was held to celebrate her seventh birthday, Twelve guests were present and enjoyed games and the birthday luncheon. Mrs, Art Connors entertained for her son Carl's eighth birthday on Monday after- noon, August 27th.
