The Giants, who had just finished winning the Lakehead Senior League, appeared to be too strong for the local team in the first game as they played good ball and made many timely hits to win by the score of 6-2, Sinfield and Malo each collected three hits for the visitors with one of Malo's hits being a long home rm in the first inning, Sievers, Marv Osmar, and Pluta each col- lected two hits for Terrace, In the second game the story was different, Jim Moro on the hill for Terrace held the heavy hitting Giant team to three hits, The contest was originally scheduled for seven innings, but the Giants came up with their first two hits in the top of the seventh to tie the score 1-1, In the extra innings the Terrace team pushed over a run in the bottom half of the ninth inning to win 2-1, Hnatiw hit a triple for the Giants in this game while Sievers collected three hits in four trips to the plate for Terrace, The Terrace team wishes to take this opportunity to thank the Merchants and the fans for the fine support accorded them in these contests, There will be return games at the Lakehead in tre near future, Line Scores lst Game dB Sore > wipe EF . Last year the pros from at least 5 clubs participated as well as some of the finer amateur players in the district 50 some very nice golf was exhibited, Naturally the boys from Terrace are the "veak sisters" of the Tournament as there is not the opportunity to get much-needed practise but it is hoped that more of or people will golf more now that the highway to Marathon is in such excellent slape. The Course at Marathon has im- proved remarkably over the past 2 years arl the greens in particular make this sprty course a joy to play on, Members of the Terrace team this year ar: Dave Acal, AL Harrison, Jack Lang an Al Pattison, The latter, by the way, wa the lucky winner of a "Bay Boy" golf cat valued at $39.50 at a raffle at Mara- tha last week, Needless to say it was a poplar win with the Marathon boys. 0-0-0
