it [> Do IH es ie) RECIPE OF THE WEEK RICE PUDDING cup rice cups milk sugar salt ; tablespoons butter eggs, separated peel 1 lemon, grated teaspoons cinnamon tablespoons seedless raisins 7 bread crumbs Prepare a milk rice by first immersing the rice for 5 minutes in boiling water; drain well and then let simmer in hot milk, to which 1/4 cup sugar and a pinch of salt' has been added, When almost 'done, take off stove, add butter and let cool to lukewarm, Mix egg yolks, 1/4 cup sugar, grated lemon peel, cinnamon, and raisins, Stir this mixture into rice, When entirely cold, stir in stiffly beaten egg whites to which 2 tablespoons of.sugar have been added. Pour into a pudding form of baking dish, buttered and lined with bread crumbs, and bake in medium oven 375°F., for about 15 minutes, until. rice is done and custard is set. Serve hot. ' It was with regret that we learned of the sudden passing of George Morar in Fort William, last'Friday, August 10th while enroute to holiday with his Mother in Melville, Sask, George had worked for Longhac Pulp and Paper Company since its beginning and was a backtender. Burial will take place in Melville, Sask, Shirley and Meredith Nelson with . Robert, Paul and Debbie arrived home last weekend from their holidays which they spent at New Liskard, Ontario the guests of Moe's brother, Dr. F. C, Nelson and family.
