This group is made up of about 35 men who enjoy singing in a chorus for the fellowship they receive, Each year they participate ina Big Sing, which last year was held in Rochester, Minnesota, and for which they gained considerable praise, In our' own area last year, this group trav- elled to 4 nearby towns where they presented their programme of numbers, and this was the same programme as that presented to the people of Terrace Bay at their concert in May. We cannot say that this group consists of only men since their accompanist is a lady, Without her time and-efforts, the group would be hard-pressed to continue, No one is refused admittance to member-~ ship in this Chorus, and each year shows a marked improvement in their performance, LIBRARY Our library now being in the Recreation Centre, with proper lighting, space and cleanliness, there is a continued advance- ment in registration and number of books borrowed by our people, There now is quite a good selection of children's and adults! books, as well as a record library which (Cont. on next col.) Page 6 RECREATION FLYER (Cont, ) a TERRACE BAY RECREATION REPORT FOR THE YEAR 1 operates on the same principles as the book library, and which also enjoys popu-~ larity. Our library is still a member of the Co-operative Library which operates by bookmobile from the Lakehead, and to date it is the second largest subscriber to this Co-Operative Library, Fort William Library being the first, Since this Co-Operative Library is subscribed to by mast ef the libraries in the Thunder Bay area, this is a remarkable record on our part, At the present time, the membership in our library stands at 634 adults and 445 children, totalling 1,079. SENIOR ART CLUB We are pleased to say that we have a group of interested people meeting regularly once a week to sketch and paint in oils and water colours, The Club this past year drew up their own committee and con- stitution, which was presented to their members and approved, Once a month the group have a business meeting, at which time any problems are brought forth and discussed, This Club has many Schreiber members participating and cont ributing towards the strength of this organization, At present the enrollment stands at 25 members, During the past year, we were fortunate in having an instructor come all the way from Marathon every week to teach these members - Mr, Klepy by name - and he has done a great job indeed for these people. The Club pay his transportation charges for each session, We also formed a Junior Art Club last year that met each Saturday morning, and the attendance for these classes averaged about 35 boys and girls. Some of these people have now moved up into the adult group and are coming along very well, (Continued next week) o-O~o NOTICE We are holding two chains interlocked containing one post office key and one house key, a coronation coin and a safety coin, one small pocket knife and a 1951 License no, -51-S, Owner please call at the Post Office.
