') oo @l. on & c ee 9 L RECIPE OF THE WEEK BANANA CAKE 2-1/2 cups sifted cake flour 2-1/2 teaspoons Baking Powder Lg teaspoon salt 1/2 cup all-purpose oil 1-1/4 cups mashed ripe bananas po eggs 1/2 cup milk 1-1/2 cups sugar Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add oil, bananas, and milk. Beat until the mixture forms a very stiff batter. In a separate bowl, beat eggs until thick and foamy. Gradually add sugar and beat until very well blended, Fold egg~sugar mixture into first batter, Pour into 2 greased and floured 9 x 1-1/2 inch round layer cake pans. Bake in a 375°F, (mod- erate) oven about 30 minutes. Catharine McCallum has been visiting for the. past week. with her sister Betty Ollen-Bittle, Catharine recently returned to Port Arthur from Los Angeles, California where she spent the past winter. Mrs, Reta Willoughby of North Bay spent the long weekend as guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Roy Barker and sister Connie. Mr, and Mrs, Eric Knight of Kenora have arrived for a visit with son Earl and to attend the Knight-Flewelling marriage on Saturday. The Dim Bulbs will meet next Tuesday evening, May 29th at the home of Mrs, Ev Garvin, Election of officers for the coming season will be held at this meeting. 0-0-0 HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION The regular meeting of the Terrace Bay Home and School Association will be held Monday evening, May 28th, at 8:15 pm. in the Public School. Election of officers for the forthcoming season will be conducted and reports of the year's accomplishments presented. A very interesting film has been secured on auditory and visual aid in the school. The attendance shield in St, Martin's Separate School was won again last month by Miss Claxton's Grade one pupils while in the Public School Miss Bradshaw's Grade two pupils were the winners. 0-0-0 GIRL GUIDE ASSOC TATION The regular monthly meeting of the Terrace Bay Girl Guide Association will be held Monday May 28th at 8:00 p.m. in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre.
