An outbreak of infectious. Jaundice started in November with 19 cases reported by the end of the year. In addition to the above illnesses there was a severe outbreak of Septic Sore Throats during the early winter months of 1955. There were no cases of Poliomyelitis in 1955 and no new cases of Tuberculosis, Both grade schools were visited frequently throughout the school year by myself and by the school nurse, and all new pupils were examined. The necessary immunizations were carried out at the schools and inspections were made of septic conditions and signs of infestation. Immunization of the children of the town of pre-school' age was carried out as in previous years, with a total of 230 injections of Diphteria, Tetanus, and Pertusus innoculations, and 62 vas- Cinations agains Small Pox, There were no cases of these illnesses during the year, / During 1955 there were 56 live births to Terrace Bay residénts and one still- birth, There was one Terrace Bay death (adult) and no maternal nor infant mortal- ity during the year, i. He is now being transferred to the Montreal Office where he will receive promotion with his firm. Almost ten years in Terrace Bay makes Alphonse one of the original residents of Terrace Bay and it is with much regret that Alphonse's many friends learn of his transfer, Needless to say Alphonse has seen the town and the mill grow out of the bush to its present status, and as an employee of Dominion Catering he has performed a valuable service to the growth ofthe mill 'and town. Alphonse has enjoyed. his work and the friendships made in almost ten years. He wishes to thank the many people who have made his work and his stay in Terrace Bay a pleasant one, One thing is-for certain, and that is that the Montreal Canadiens are going to have one more ardent supporter packed into the Forum in their play-off for the Stanley Cup.
