GALLOPING GALS WIN OVER HENPECKED HEROES{ 1 Last Friday night before a crowd of almost 300 fans, these two great teams faced off for what was going to be one of the hardest fought battles in the history of hockey « Early in the first period the galloping gals punched through the opposing defence in a power play to start the scoring, seconds later they tallied again to a 2-0 lead, Not to be outdone the Henpecked heroes, showing some of that olii-time greatness slapped home two fast goals to tie the score. After some see-saw hockey the HH. scored again to grab the lead for the first time and so ended the first period. The second stanza saw both teams trying to forge ahead but to no avail as time and time again the score would be tied wmtil the ladies in a couple of dazzling fancy plays forged ahead to a 7-5 head, The H.H, rallied again with some picture book hockey to tie the score in the closing minutes of the second period, Ma The third period opened with both teams out for blood and checking hard. After many thrills and spills the G.G, '. smashed through to blink the light again, but experience tells, the HoH. playing hard and fast tied the score again, With Little time left and so much at stake the play was fast and furious, but youth proved itself again when the G.G,. forged ahead in the final five seconds to victory and the cup.
