Volume 5, No. 46 ARMISTICE DAY OBSERVED BY EX SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN On Friday November 11th a gathering of about forty men and women attended a dinner at the Hotel Terrace in observance of Armistice Day. John Jeanneret was M,C. for the occ- asion. Ed Cavanaugh proposed the toast to the fallen. Fred Gould sounded the last post, followed by a two minute silence. The committee in charge of the dinner were disappointed at the poor turn-out of Ex- Service men and women as a turn-out of one hundred were planned for. Much discussion took place among those present, as to the reasons for an obvious lack of interest by the local veterans in a comradeship observance of Armistice Day at this 4th Annual Dinner, Many suggestions were made and perhaps one of the greatest needs in the town was the erection of a Cenotaph where ceremonies could be held by all groups in Terrace Bay each Armistice Day. An elected committee was formed amongst those present to make plans for next years dinner and program, o-0-0 XMAS BAZAAR The Ladies Auxiliary of the Community Church will hold their annual bazaar in the Church basement November 26th, There will be many attractions including a fish pond, touch and take, aprons, baked goods and a white elephant table.
