No winner was present to collect the seven dollar draw prize. 0-0-0 OFF THE BAT COLUMN Before we go too far with this colum, on behalf of players and fans alike, this reporter wishes to congratulate Alf Adrian of Snifv #3 for his spectacular achievement of last Sunday afternoon, From reports gathered from "those in the know" who have followed softball here since 1946, Alf Adrian's no-hitter game against the great pitching of Ed Aho for Shift #2 was the first in local softball history. From Alf's past performance, it was believed he would eventually reach his goal, but never was it thought that he would "warm up" on a cold day. Those ardent fans who witnessed this feat may consider themselves fortunate in enduring the cold to see one of the best games of all time as well as a history- making one, At 6:45 Friday evening (June 17th), Red Rock's All Star team will be on hand to meet our All Stars, This should prove to be a very interesting game, as both aggregations are "studded" with All Stars, Come out and support your All Stars. Invitations have been extended to eight teams of the district to participate in our Second Annual Invitational Softball Tourna- ment to be held on Friday, July lst. Those many who attended the first tournament will vouch that "if it's softball at its very best you seek, then don't miss the Second Invitational Softball Tournament". The committee in charge headed by Bill Borsum and Frank Whitfield will soon make known the names of the teams competing for the grand cash prizes and the Gordon Rowlandson Trophy, as well as the schedule and admiss:ion charges.
