CONSERVATIONS HOLD MEETING IN TERRACE BAY On April 2nd and 3rd, 1955 the Northwestern Ontario Conservation Federation Zone One of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters held a two day meeting in the Recreation Centre at Terrace Bay, Don Ollen-Bittle of Terrace Bay, President of Zone One was in charge of the two day meeting which saw 60 delegates from Northwestern Ontario-in attendance, The importance of the meeting and the business to be transacted is indicated by the fact that there were fourteen officials in attendance from the Department of Lands and Forests, among them being Dr, W. Jd. Harkness, Chief, Division of Fish and Wildlife, On Saturday night a banquet was held in tne Hotel Terrace for the delegates where conservation films were shown The two day meeting resulted in the exchange of valuable information in regard to the conservation of Ontario's natural resources, The next meeting of the Federation will be held early in September in Rossport'. 0-0-0 HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY "There will be a meeting of the Horticultural Society on April 21st, with a special speaker from Fort William, Membership premiums have arrived and will be given out on April 2lst at this neeting,. Plans and ideas regarding a Mother and Daughter Banquet were discussed with no date being set. It was definitely decided that Sommissioner Maitland attend the Provincial (Cont. on next col,) "NOW. LOCAL ASSOCIATION (Cont. ) Convention in Toronto in April. Mrs. Maitland will no doubt return with plenty of information and interesting data. We hope all interested ladies will turn out to our next regular meeting. The attendance at our meeting on March 28th was very poor.
