SCHREIBER LADIES DEFEAT TERRACE "LADIES: A crowd of over 400 persons attended the game on Sunday, March 20, 1955 to witness the first game between the « Schreiber Ladies and the Terrace Bay Ladies Hockey teams which resulted in a 6 to 3 win for the Schreiber Squad. The game was exceptionally well played, and everyone in attendance were perfectly satisfied with the type of hockey that was played, saying it was a treat after the slam-bang North Shore League play. Schreiber had the edge on the play, built up by better passing plays, while the Terrace Bay squad attempted individual rushes which usually ended up in the corners, Standouts for Terrace Bay were Vezina, Black and Todd, while for the Schreiber club, Riley, Duggan, and Nesbitt, played a stellar game. Mr, Brodie showed the group some of the future news inthe telephone industry. His main talk was concerned with new methods for making and billing long distance calls. In the not too distant future you will be able to pick up your telephone and dial Aunt Emily in Chicago direct from your own home.
