RECIPE OF THE WEEK CHILI - MACARONI 2 tablespoons shortening or dripping pound minced beef 3/k cup chopped onion 1/2 cup sliced celery 1/2 cup diced green pepper (optional) » 12 cups boiling water 1 tablespoon Bisto 1/2 to 1 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 cup cold water Salt and pepper Freshly cooked macaroni Melt fat in hot frying pan; add minced beef, onion, celery and green pepper, if being used; brown meat lightly, stirring constantly. Stir in boiling water. Com- bine Bisto and chili powder; slowly blend in cold water, Stir into meat mixture; cook, stirring constantly until delicately thickened. Season to taste with salt and pepper; simmer 5 minutes. Betty and Forbes Cruickshanks spent a few days in Port Arthur last week visiting with Forbes! parents Mr, and Mrs, Alex Cruickshanks and Betty's sister, Mrs, George Peterson and family, Norina Gregnol of Port Arthur was a weekend guest of Virginia and Gary Galvin, The regular monthly meeting of the Dim Bulbs was held Tuesday evening at the home of Mary Byers. In the ab- sence of the president, Ev Garvin, past-president, presided, Games and contests were enjoyed during the evening with Helen Boudreau and Lil Harris winning prizes at cards, and contest prizes going to Ev Garvin, Sheila Zwaresh and Louise Stuart. A most attractive luncheon was served by the hostess at the conclusion of the evening. There will be no meeting in December, The marriage of Miss Ivy Smith of Port Arthur, formerly of Saskatoon, and Mr. Alan Pattison of Terrace Bay, took place, Thursday, November 275h, at 2:30 - pem., in the Trinity United Church, Reverend Russell A, Peden officiating. The attendants were Mrs, Larry Spiess and Mr. Robert Pattison, brother of the bridegroom, The couple will reside in Terrace Bay. A very nice wedding took place in St. Joseph's Church, Chelmsford, Ont. at nine o'clock on November 27th, when Jean Mayer daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Arthur Mayer, became che bride of John LeBlanc son of Mr, and Mrs. Art LeBlanc of Terrace Bay, Ont. Reverend Father Lionel Seguin officiated. Mr, and Mrs, Art LeBlanc and daughter Marielle returned from Chelmsford Ont. where they attended the wedding of John LeBlanc and Jean Mayer, Marielle acted as bridesmaid.
