THE GOLFERS CLUB ee ge ae Now that«architect's plans for a 9-hole local course are well underway, the big question is, "How soon can we get started on a course?" That depends on a number of things, The big job is to finance the project whchily or in part. Witha good set of plans, a course can be built a hole at a time, But even then money is needed. It is generally much more. economical to build a number of holes at a time, As our course is laid out, a split of 4 one time and 5 another appears to be very feasible, At an Executive Committee meeting - of the Golfers Club held last Monday, many ideas for. financing were considered, The most practical appears to be a general financial drive throughout the commnity on a payroll deduction basis. This type of thing does a lot for any commmity*that makes a success of developing a major project, That's how many communities and areas get much needed facilities which do not otherwise emerge. And since a golf course here... would serve the entire area, serious consideration is being given to including Schreiber in any such financial drive. In fact, the old Gold Range Mine area was considered as a golf course site so that it would be between the two communite ies. But there were problems at the Gold Range not present at the site selected, Everyone is reminded again af the.
