Next year Frank says a bigger and better tournament with lots of rain insurance protection. The rain did not of course stop any of the smaller fry from picking up their treats from the Union booth, Local 665 Pulp and Sulphite Union are to be congratulated too for their very fine arrangements for the kids on Labour Day. 0-0-0 BASEBALL ASSOCIATION DANCE SPETEMBER 24TH The Terrace Bay Baseball Association at an executive meeting decided to hold a gala season wind-up dance. at the High school Auditorium on September 24th, 1954. Proceeds from this dance will iclp defray the costs of a banquet for the Little League baseball players, A valuable door prize will be given at the dance, Tickets will be on sale soon, So help baseball in Terrace Bay by buying a ticket, 0-0-0 (D) COY L.S.S.Re (M) Company will parade at 1915 hours September 9th, 1954. The target of 200 members by Labour Day was ee reached 4 days ahead es Hk of time, Membership rn has now passed the 250 mark , A formal request had now been oresented to the Recreation Committee for finanacial asistance to cover architectural (Cont. on next col.) Except for minor expenses (such as postage) all money in the Golfers Club treasury is also car- marked to help pay for services of a golf course architect, Pro- viding financing and other arrange- ments can be completed satisfactor- ily, plans still call for selection of a site this Fall. It would then be passible to have blueprints drawn during the winter months ready for a start on the course in the Spring with heavy equipment, Now just a bit about the outing to Marathon on Saturday, September 18th. Everyone who wants to go is cordially invited. The tournament proper will get underway at 1:00 Pem. and either 9 or 16 holes may be played. It should be stressed again that play is for everybody regardless of ability. Each player will be teamed up with someone playing his or her calibre of golf, Apart from the tournament proper many local golfers are plan- ning on going down in the morning for a game starting around 10:00 a.m, The Marathon club is planning on having players available at that time too to team up with our gang for a friendly game, All local golfers planning on making the trip should advise any member of the committee not later than next Tuesday, Septembor 14th, We must know how many will be going in order to make arrangements for refreshments, When you give your name to a committee member, your average score and whether or not you have transportation are questions which should be answered, Members of the committee are: Howard Solly, Des Evans-Smith, Dr. Dave Acal, Doris Hansford, "BAD Sedowick, Al Pattison and Fred Soughton. 0-0-0
