. °° REGIPE OF THE WEEK NUT AND RAISIN SPICE BARS .3/k cup soft shortening (part butter) py ge cups sifted Robin Hood Flour 2 teaspoons baking powder Wh teaspoon salt pi AN teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon allspice 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs, well beaten 1/4 cup light molasses ee cup chopped nuts x cup seedless raisins 6 tablespoons milk, Measure shortening and butter into mixing bowl, Grease and lightly flour a 9 x 12 inch cake tin. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and spices, . Cream shortening and butter until fluffy, Gradually add sugar, mixing until creamy, Add beaten eggs. Beat well, Adc molasses, nuts and raisins. Blend well, Add dry ingredients and milk combining thro- oughly. The Coulters had been holidaying in Vancouver, Audrey and: Jim Rowley with Jimmy and Tanya returned: home. Friday from their holicays spent in East Angus Quebec with Jim's parents, Mr, and Mrs, Géorge Rowley and in Smith's Falls, Ontario with Audrey's Grandmother, Mrs, W, J, Harris, Audrey with the children had spent the previous two months visiting with her parents, Mr. and Mrs, A. W. Harris of Trois Riviere, Quebec, Ted McInnes with Sandra, Vincent, Janice, Judy, Jennifer, Bryan and Susan returned home Sunday from a holiday spent in South River, Ontario as guests of Ted's Mother, Mrs. Helen McInnes and his Sister, Mrs, Kathleen McLaren, Vivian and Francis Harna with young Yougie had an enjoyable motor trip to Winnipeg, where they were guests of Francis! parents, Mr, and Mrs. H, Hanna and visiting with his relatives at Gladstone, Manitoba, before returning home Monday. Bill Haviland, along with Per Berg Johannson and Roy Dawson of Dryden were weekend guests of his brother Chuck Havil-- _and and family. '" Dot and Pete Shrier with Judy -and Karen motored to Winnipeg to visit with Dot's sister and family, Mr. and Mrs, Millbrant, and in Ladywood, Manitoba with Pete's brother, and family, Mr, and Mrs, Jack Schreyer, In Winnipeg they increased the family with a new son Jimmy who made the "return trip with them home to Terrace Bay last Saturday. Kae and Jack Anderson with Fred, Kenneth and Debbie arrived home Monday evening from an extensive motor trip starting at Pine Falls, Manitoba where they were guests of Kae's parents, Mr. and Mrs, F, Ford and in St. Pierre with her sister Florence. Travelling through the States they toured Glacier Park before going on to Calgary, Edmonton and Boyle, Alberta. In Boyle, the; visited with Jack's brother, Cliff and famil, . then travelled north to Slave Lake where they were guests of Jack's father, Mr, Harry Anderson. On the return trip they also visited with an uncle of Jack's, Mr. Frank Anderson of Moose Jaw before. stopping in Winnipeg to see Freddie McMillan and Kae!s sister Madeleine, (Cont. on Page 5)
