Volume 4, No. 35 PAV Ai PON AL SUNDAY TOURNAMENT Another "first" for the annals of Terrace Bay will be the First Annual In- vitational Softball Tournament to take place on the local diamond this coming Sunday and Monday September 5th and 6th, The Committee in charge of intro- ducing this tournament have been hard at it for the past several weeks and are now ready to render to the public a fine exhibition of softball games with outside teams as well as ours competing for prizes, The winning team will be presented with $100.00. The runner-ups will receive $60.00 and a prize of $40.00 will be given to the Consolation Winners. Mill Superintendent as well as Chairman of the Terrace Bay Recreation Association, Gordon Rowlandson has personally donated a trophy for the winning team, This trophy is for annual competition, A summary of the games to be played is as follows: Sunaay, September 5th Elimination Day 1:00 pem. lLongLac vs. Terrace Bay All Stars 3:00 p.m. Terrace Bay T-M vs. Fort William Aces 5:00 pom. Winner of #5 vs, Winner of #6 (Champions) All games will be of seven innings excepting the declaring of the champions which will be of nine innings. Admission to these games will be through supporter tags which must be conspicuous on one's apparel. Twenty- five cents will buy a coloured tag which will admit one to all the games of Sunday, You may go and come as you wish, A further twenty-five cents will buy another coloured tag for all the games of Monday excepting the finals at 4:30, For this final game a third coloured tag will be issued at thirty-five cents each, For the small sum of eighty-five cents one will be allowed to sit and enjoy eight very exciting games. Come and support your team which at the same time will be an approval of the hard work conducted by the committee in charge, Curtains will officially be dropped on the season's softball activities between the hours of 9 and 1, The evening of Monday September 6th at the Auditorium of the Continuation School, This is the night of the big dance which is opened to all including visiting teams and their supporters.
