The untimely and sudden passing of Mrs. Long came as a shock to relatives and her many friends formed in the past two years residence in Terrace Bay, Born in Kenora, Ontario 34 years ago, Mrs, Long, the forma Rose Duquette, had lived all her life in that town prior to moving to Terrace Bay, Mrs. Long is survived by her husband, John, and children: Rosemary, Elaine, Bonnie, Adrainne, Robert, Tom and Paulette. . Also surviving are her parents, Mr, and Mrs, Fred Duquette of Kenora, Ontario; two sisters, Mrs. George Robinson and Mae Duquette and a brother, Louis Duquette, all of Terrace Bay, Funeral services were held in Kenora, Wednesday, June 23rd, at 9:30 a.m. from Brown's Funeral Home to Notre Dame Church for Requiem High Mass conducted by Reverend Father Leblue. Reverend Father Gauthier officiated at the graveside service, Notre Dame Cemetery where burial took place, Mrs. Long had been a member of St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church while : | . residing in Terrace Bay. AROUND THE TOWN Principals and teachers are off once more for their summer vacations, along with ail their little charges. This ' summer Mr, and Mrs, Dave Locking with their family have left for their camp at Long Bow Lake, Kenora. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Kenney and boys left Tuesday to reside in Rossport for the summer, Mrs. Charlie Briggs and the children leave Wednesday for three weeks vacation in Toronto with Mrs, Briggs' brother, Robert Murdock, and in Collingwood with Charlie's parents Mr, and Mrs. D. W. Briggs. Richard Downey will travel the furthest afield this season, having left June 24th to vacation in Europe the next two months, Claire Quarry will visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Quarry of Burlington prior to taking a Primary course in Hamilton. Pat Dooling will vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs, Joe Dooling of Douglas, Ontario, Dorothy McEwan, who will not teach the coming season, has moved to Kingston, Ontario to live with her Father, (Cont. on page 7)
