COMMUNITY CHEST QUESTIONNAIRES ATTACHED TO CHEQUES Attached to each LongLac Pulp and Paper Company cheque issued this week will be a questionnaire, Each married man will receive two. forms - one for his wife and one for himself, These are to be returned to a Terrace Bay News box at the mill or in the Hudson Bay Store in the townsite by Friday noon, May 28th, Salaried employees of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company or wage earners in the townsite will receive theirs from their store manager, supervisor etc. If anyone hasn't received his form by Monday, May 24th he should phone Ken Hutchinson at 516 in the townsite, It is very important that as many forms as possible be returned, If two-thirds of the forms returned are in favour of having a Community Chest, it will become effective in its present form. The revis- ions to the constitution that was published on April 22nd in the Terrace Bay News, are noted below, If the Community Chest constitution is put into effect, it is planned that as many as possible of the following charities will be included - Red Cross, Canadian National Institute for the Blind, Children's Aid Society, Christmas Seals (Tuberculosis) Easter Seals (Crippled Children), Salvation Army, Cancer and any other National Char- ities that our Community Chest executive feel are worthy of our support. Here are the revisions that were made at the public meeting in the Contin- uation School on Thursday, May 13th. Article III Section 2 instead of "one year'! read "two years", Section 3 (a) delete "to appoint all committees unless otherwise directed" and add "The President shall only have voting power in case of a tie vote", Article IV Section 1 Add "To appoint all committees unless otherwise directed", Article VI Section 1 In place of "wage~ earners" insert "adults", Article VIII Section 1 (b) In place of "seven (7) days before the meeting "insert" in at least two (2) consec- utive issues of the Terrace Bay News immediately prior to the meeting." Article IX Section 1 Delete entirely and insert the following: "Nominating Committee Before the annual meeting in January, the executive committee shall appoint a three person nominating committee who shall nominate candidates, willing ° to stand for office, for each of the offices of the executive committee except as noted in Article IX Section 2.
