Open Tournament held in Terrace Bay Friday, and Saturday, May 8th and 9th at the High School Auditorium, Dot after a tough battle with Olyve Harrison took the Ladies Singles then teamed with Olyve to beat out H,. D'Arcy and S, Sly of Schreiber for the Ladies Doubles. In the Mixed Doubles Dot teamed up with E, Carswell of Schreiber to take this event from H, D'Arcy and H, Gellert of Schreiber. In the Men's Doubles the old stand bys E. Carswell and H, Gellert of Schreiber beat out G,. Paget and C. Buck, Gord Paget got revenge when he beat E, Carswell, who won from Gordie last year, for the Men's Singles, in the Consolation Playoffs. It was S,. Sly over M. Doig for Ladies Singles. L. Riddell (Schreiber) and I, Ungar (Marathon) won over M, Doig and E, Guillett of Schreiber in the Ladies Doubles, In the Mixed Doubles, I, Ungar and C. Buck teamed up to beat L, and M, Riddell of Schreiber, In the Men's Doubles it was a father and son combination of M, and H, Riddell beating out J. All the future "pros" will be feted to a banquet at the Hotel Terrace at 7:00 p.sm., Saturday, May 15th, The Terrace Bay Hockey Association have invited Al Delvicchio of the Detroit Red Wings and Lee Fogolin of the Chicago Black Hawks to be present and make the presentations which include a Jacket donated by Detroit Red Wings and a pair of skates from the Chicago Black Hawks, All minor hockey players and coaches have been invited. If anyone of this group has been missed they are welcome to attend this banquet and the Hockey Association expects to see them there, The Hockey Association's big "Honorary President Contest" is going good.
