JT o-nicHt At 8:00 p.m, this evening in the Cone tinuation School Auditorium a meeting will be held of people interested in the pos~ sibility of a "Terrace Bay Community Chest", At the meeting the proposed constitution will be presented. Here will be your op- portunity to question, accept or reject this proposal, One thing should be kept in mind regarding the Community Chest - representatives of all the wage-earning groups in Terrace Bay have done the spade work and composed the constitution that was published two weeks ago. No single group or organization has formulated the ideas; no one will receive pay for serving on the Community Chest committees; no portion of monies received will go out of Terrace except to designated charities, don't forget to bring your copy of the proposed constitution to the meeting to-night, May 6th at 8:00 p.m, 0-0-0 MOTHERS DAY TEA The Apron group of the Commmity Church will hold a Mothers Day Tea on Saturday, May 8th at 2:30 p.m, Adults o35¢ Children ,15¢ Dainty aprons will be sold, 0-0-0 JUNIOR TRADESMEN GRADUATE AT TERRACE BAY On April 29, 1954, Walter Janicki and Adam Zyri, as graduates of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company Limited's Junior Tradesmen's Program were guests of honour at a Graduation Dinner at Hotel Terrace, in Terrace Bay, Ontario, Although the alumni of the LongLac's Junior Trades Program consists of eleven tradesmen, Walter Janicki and Adam Zyri represent the first two graduate tradesmen as such, The other graduates were trades- men's helpers when they entered the program, Walter Janicki graduated as a millwright,. Walter is single and hails from Kenora, Ontario, He started working for the Company May 2, 1950 in the Wood Handling Department and on April 30, 1951, was chosen to begin the Junior Tradesmen Program, Adam Zyri also graduated as a millwright,. He is married and has three children, Marie, Paul and Penny, Adam lives at 14 Pine Crescent. Born in Fort William, he started with the Company on April 1, 1949 in the Pulp Conversion Department. He also worked for a few months in the Woodyard, On November 30, 1950, Adam's application as a Junior Tradesman was accepted, There were many guests at the dinner which included D, C, Porter, Mill Manager of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company Ltd., H, 0, Laundy, Personnel Superintendent, the Junior Tradesmen Advisory Committee, Presid- ents of the Local Unions and many others, Herman Roberts, member of the Advisory Committee acted as Chairman for the ocoasion, (Cont. on page 3)
