'Volume 4, No. 17. te All sane, normal people, are cautioned to be extra careful on Saturday, May 1, 1954. In fact it may be safest to stay incoors until at least midday. Because on Saturday the speckled and rainbow trout hysteria will effect about one half the population, Fishermen will be driving frantically out to the Steele, the Pic, the Prairie and countless other streams to try for the first trout of the 1954 season, Some of the trout enthusiastics we need not worry about. They are the group who will camp on a stream on Friday night and at ex- actly 12:01 May 1, (Zero Hour) they will attack the streams with a gusto reminiscent of the Normandy invasion, With all the energy expended, money invested in equipment, the wear and abuse to the family it is a pity the fishermen do not catch anything. The Trout Season opens May 1 to Sept. 15 (Speckled and Rainbow Trout), Limit of catch ~ Speckles - 1 plus an additional 14 per day, provided additional 14 in aggregate weight not more than ten pounds, Rainbow 5 in one day, Length not less than '7 inches.
