ES) Winlerds NGS seco Sf Fea) MEN'S FIVE PIN HYDRO WINS DOMINION CATERING TROPHY Congratulations and a lot of credit are in order for Les Edmond's Hydro team for winning the Ments 5 Pin major roll-off. Every year so far they have been plagued with transfers within their organization and have been unable to keep a steady team, But this year come what may, they pushed their way to top spot and the championship. It was mainly D, Chilton's 302 and 211 games that put them well ahead, That with L. Belleveaus 211 and 203 and L. Edmonds 231 practically assured the outcome, Hydro's only serious threat were Shift #l's J. Louk with his 4 game total of 713 and Terrace Motor's P, Diduch - $21 and R. Hunt 765, D. Chilton, by the way, beat the former hi- single with handicap of 350 for roll-off with 356, This had been held by B. Borsum. The K.C.'s were steady but not high enough to pick top spot. Ed Pineauit rolled 249, 209 and B. Cut Ups started right out. by taking the first game with a score of 1024 to give themselves a 50 point advantage over their nearest rival the Sleepers. In the second game the Sleepers rolled a nice 1170, hi game of the roll off, to overcome the Cut Ups and take a 47 lead for the third game. Pin Dusters slipped in the second game which made it a strugg*e to make a comeback, Rockets on the other hand came up with.a better game and put them back in the running. In the third game Rockets picked up another 1030 game to keep them in the game, Cut Ups rolled a 1042 to put themselves out in front going Although the Pin Dusters increased their pin fall they were still down, Sleepers fell down in the third game but still got enough pins to keep within a few pins of the leaders, The Pin Dusters: went all out in the last game and rolled up a nice 1150 but it wasn't gooc enough to overcome the Cut Ups, who although they dropped in this game still had enough pins in hand ta stay on top. To the winners congratulat- ions and to those: who didn't make it better luck the next time, It was a good series and the winners were not known until the last frame was rolled as any team could have come out on top, O. Harrison came through with a nice 839 series with game of 204, 216, 206 and 213. C. Boudreau nearly made a hero of herself when she rolled her 314 game, Cecile needed a mark in the last frame to be able to beat the existing high score which she did but on her last ball missed the head pin and just took off the one side.
