Volume 4, No. 15 TERRACE HIGH SCHOOL WINS BOWLING TROPHY The Inter-School Bowling Trophy, don-~ ated by Mr, Linkewich together with five individual trophies was won by Terrace Bay in a play off with Schreiber, On April 2, five of Schreiber's all-star bowlers came to Terrace and on April 9th five bowlers of Terrace went to Schreiber. It was a six game series, Terrace won the first four games, and that ended the bowling for this year with Terrace taking four points out of a possible seven. This is Terraces! second victory in a row, Last year this was an important victory as it was the first sport that the: Hi-School won, and now we are looking forward to the next year, Our bowlers, Mavis MacFadyen, Helen Laundy, Ray Husband, Bill Marsh and Terry Cavanaugh, were picked from the five top bowlers of the inter-form bowling league - won by Grade XII in the roll-offs,. This prize is an all expense trip by air for two to Bermuda, All details of the trip are not available at the present time but will probably be published within the next week or two, Arrangements for this trip were made by Walter Staskow, Assistant Manager of Radio Bermuda, George Jeffrey of Radio Station C.K.P.R., Bill Borsum and Toy Seppala, Mr, Staskow is a one-time resident of Nipigon, Ontario, His parents still reside there. Walter served in the R.C.A.F. and worked for the B,.B.C. in England, Holland, Belgium and Germany before going to Bermuda as Assistant Manager of Radio Bermuda. Mr, Staskow was in the Lakehead the week-end of April 4th and upon hearing of the Derby and what a large sporting event it was in this area, attracting visitors from United States and all over Canada immediately became inter- ested ana with help of others is prom- oting the trip to Bermuda prize, 0-0-0 LADIES CURLING WINDUP PARTY Don't forget the Windup Party on April 24th!
