ARCUND THE TCWN Alan MacFadyen has returned to Camp Borden following a week's. leave spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs, W. MacFadyen be- fore going to Germany. He was accompanied on this visit by his friend, Bill Cluett also of Camp Borden, whose home is in Newfoundland. Mr. and Mrs. M. Fayetta and Batanben Jean of Port Arthur arrived last weekend to visit with their daughter and family, Mrs. J, Falzetta. | Mrs. F, Macphail and daughter Nancy of Vancouver arrived October 4th to spend a month visiting with her daughter Fran.Herron and family. Nancy Macphail is presently . visiting in Toronto, and will return next week to resume her visit and accompany her Mother home. Other visitors: at the Herron's were Fran's cousin and her husband, Mr.° and Mrs, Douglas Findlay of Port Arthur who ° spent the THanksgiving weekend here,' Mr. and Mrs. Rune Ostling were Lakehead visitors last weekend to visit our three polio patients. Mr. and Mrs, Adam Zyri and honky vette ed at Port Arthur last weekerid as guests of Ann's sister, Mrs. Castonguay. Glen Baillie returned to T6ronto last week after a short visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baillie. During his visit Glen helped his parerits célebrate 'their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary and his own twenty-first birthday. | - Mrs. R. W. Adams of' Campbellton,' New Brunswick spent a few days a week ago as guest of her daughter, Grace Moores and family. Lynne Moores accompanied her Grandmother home from Campbellton where she had visited for the past seven moriths. Inspector and Mrs. P. T. Hake of Port Arthur spent a few days last week visiting with their daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Chuck Haviland, returning on Friday. Lois with children, Joanne and Tommy re- turned with her parents and will visit in Port Arthur for a couple of weeks. i Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shirriff and family visited recently in Duluth, Minnesota, and at the Lakehead last weekend, Miss L, Lavender returned home last Saturday from Winnipeg where she had been the guest of Mrs. EK. J. Chapman for the previous two weeks. Miss Lavender also spent a week in Rainy River,: Ontario as guest of Mrs, E. Fawcett and visited with her neice, Mrs. S. Lavender and children. Hans Groop was another Lakehead visit- or last weekend visiting with his Mother (cont. on next col.) 'giving weekend, Fase 4 AR UND THE TOWN (cont. )' Mrs. T. Groop and Miss Silvia Boyle, Irene and Harry Goodfellow were the -guests of Irene's parents, Mr, and Mrs. R. Ball' of Kakabeka Falls over Thanks- _ Jean visited with her Uncle and family, Mr, James Goodfellow of Port. Arthur. Pat Hunt returned to Sault Ste. Marie Tuesday,.having spent the weekend as _ guest of her sister, Hilda Valiquette and family. 'Marge and Scotty Hamilton and child- ren were guests of Marge's brother Mr, D. Armstrong of Port Arthur last weekend, Mrs. J. Duncan accompanied them to the Lakehead, Mrs, Germaine DeLaronde and children ' visited at Nipigon over the weekend. On Oct. 2nd. the entire staff of the 'Terrace Bay Public and Separate Schools 'motored to the Lakehead to attend the Teacher's Convention at Fort William. ' One party left Thursday afternoon to re- turn Saturday night, while bhe other started early Friday morning to return Friday evening. The following teachers attended Misses Tauline Dowling, Beulah McAdam, Helen. Garratt, Pat Honer, Violet Matson, Dorothy White and Messrs, Charlie Briggs and Dick Downey of the Public School and - Misses Pat Dooling and Clare McQuarrie "and Mr, Ray Kenney of the St, Martin's Separate School. All the teachers found much of interest. They expressed themselves as much impressed by the new St, Elizabeth Separate School at which the Convention was held, 'Dan.Gillis and Ted Brown have re- Lapien from their trip to Cincinnati, Ohio where they attenbd the International. Union ' Conference, Mr. and Mrs, Eldon Marostica and 'famity visited at the Lakehead last week- end, Mrs. T. Gibbens returned to her home in North Bay, Ontario last Saturday. While in Terrace Bay Mrs, Gibbens had been the guest of her daughter, Rita Cavanaugh and family. Mrs, M, Love and young son Rickie re- turned to Port Arthur Monday having spent the weekend as guests of the Mason Dixons, Jim Clancy returned to Terrace Bay Sunday from his holidays spent in Swan River, Manitoba visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.
