9. 10. dubs LONGLAC PULP AND PAPER COMPANY LIMITED Terrace Bay, Ontario 350-DAY SAFETY CONTEST NOVEMBER 6, 1951 TO OCTOBER 21, 1952, CONTEST RULES The contest shall run for a 350 day period from 12:01 a.m, on the morning of November 6, 1951 until 12:00 midnight on the night of October 21, 1952. The contest period shall be divided into seven 50-day periods, each ending at midnight on the following dates: December 25, 1951; February 13, 1952; April 4, 1952; May 24, 1952; July 13, 1952; September 1, 1952; October 21, 1952. Units of Departments as set forth in the monthly accident experience report shall compete against themselves for the purpose of earning prize money which may be used in any manner except by individual division of cash. Every LongLac employee, both hourly and salary, shall be entered in his or her respective unit for contest purposes, In departments where foremen supervise more than one unit, said foremen shall be allocated to specific units prior to commencement of the contest. Hach time a unit completes 50 consecutive safe days during the contest, a cash credit of .25¢ per employee shall be the award. During the contest, bonuses will be paid to units as follows in addition to regular earnings: 100 consecutive safe days - ,.15¢ per employee 200 " " " pe a 20¢ " tt 300 " " " ae ty 25¢ i" " Units having completed 850 consecutive safe days by October 21, 1952, will receive in addition to all other earnings a special bonus of .25¢ per employee. ($50 consecutive safe days is the total period covered by all three contests of this type combined, the first of which commenced June 24, 1950.) Based on National Safety Council standards, a disabling injury shall end a run of consecutive safe days for any unit on the first day lost by the employee having the accident. When an accident breaks a run on consecutive safe days, a unit shall immediately start to build up safe days for a new run, Accidents will be charged to the unit in which an employee is working at the time of the mishap. Careful check should be kept therefore by supervisors when employees are temporarily loaned or borrowed. ' Funds accumulated by a unit cannot be forfeited by an accident, The Contest Committee will serve as an accounting Committee and will also act on any disputes which may arise out of the contest.
