LIBRARY RE-OPENS MOND.Y The Library has now been moved to-new quarters which, in every respect, cre much more desirable than the old locntion in the South Camp. A portion of the space formerly occupied by the Improvement District has been set aside as « Library and the necessary renovation and re~decorating is nearing completion, ' This Library opened in February, 1950 and by the end of December of that year there were almost 400 books on the shelves, By the end of June of this year, this total had increased to almost 600. All of the progress that the library has made to date is due to the amount of honest effort that the volunteor members of the Board have put into their work, Mrs. J. Shaunessy is Chairman of the advisory Board with Eleanor Pearson :s Secretory. Rev, Lavender and Joe Heenan are the other members of this Board, H. OC. Leundy is Chairman of the Terrece Bay Public Librery Board and Frank Strutt is Secretary Treasurer, Willing and offioeient sorvice is dispensed at o11 times by the Librcerian, Mrs, Ellen Hodgkiss, {11 residents are requested to make good use of the excellent volumes -vailable and are reminded thet this is - free Public Library. li. HOCKEY MEETING TONIGHT At the last hockcy meeting it wes gen- erally agreed that we should enter an Inter- medinte team in the North Shore Hockey League again this winter. E. Crowe of Schreiber cut the ribbon that allowed the doors to open to snother public service building in this fast growing little community. Jimong those who attended this official ceremony were: H. S. Craig, K-C Corporstion, Toronto; Thad Epps, K-C Corp., Neenah, Wisc; Dr, J, B. MacLaren, Medical Director, K-C Corporntion, Neenah, Wisc; Dr. C. G, Cameron, Workmen's Compensation Board, Toronto; Mr, G. Caccamo, Town Council, Schreiber; Mr. M. Nicol, Rossport; Hospital Board Chairman H, C. Laundy and members D. C. Porter, R. J. Shemanski, W. C. Borsum; Drs. D. J. M. McCausland, J. Ridge and Super- visor Miss D. Wilson, R.N.; Mr. C. E. Paget, Townsite Superintendent, and Mr. J, Husband, Port .rthur Purchasing Department, LongLac Pulp and P-per Company. The contractors were also represented in the persons of Messrs, Stead and Lindstrom; Mr. B, McCormick of Strechan-i.itken Electric end Mr, A. Isbis- ter of L.i.. Green Plumbing, Following the officinl opening ceremony, an open house was held during which local residents inspected the interior of the Hospital. The next day, the few patients who were occupying the old hospital were trensferred and by Saturday, October 27th, the complete move of all furniture, etc. had teken place, ; 0-0-0 KIWANIS SAYS THANK YOU!
