We wish also to thank ell those who were res- ponsible for the fireworks display at the Hydro Dam, for the safe way in whicn the dis- play was handled en the night of the 24th. 0-0-0 HALFesMILLION SAFE MAN HOUR OBJECTIVE EXCEEDED Last Friday, a long standing objective was achieved when we passed a half-million safe man hours without an on duty disabling injury. The objective was set in mid-summer of 1949 and the same year was almost achieved We were within 30,000 man hours of our goal when o disabling injury occurred after 470,000 safe man hours hed been worked. Early this year our safe man hour total reached the 375,000 mark when it was again broken and we started at the bottom of the ladder, However, last Friday, the objective was reached. Now we're out to reach ONE MILLION SAFE MAN HOURS without a disabling injury and since others have made it, we can too. 0-0-0 BALLET DANCING CLASSES Ballet dancing classes for girls began on Wednesday afternoon, May 30th in the School? under the direction of Mrs, T, Williscroft. Classes will be 2s follows every Wednesday: ige 3 years to 10 yrs. - 4 to 5 pm. ige 11 years and over - 7 to 8 p.m. Blouse, shorts, and running shoes or ' soft soled slippers are the only items re- quired by those attending classes, No danc- ing slippers are required at the present time. Mr. H. A. Saunders gave a synopsis of a Skit which showed the effect on the children of the nervous mother, the overstrict mother and the calm practical mother. 4A film was shown on "You and your Child" and refreshments were served, Mrs. R. Wills, our Social Convenor rnd the Home and School Committee would like to express their appreciation to all who assist- ed the refreshment committee, The next Home and School Association meeting will be held in September, 0-0-0 SCOUTS ND CUBS The regular meeting of the Scouts will be held this Friday at 6:45 in the Legion Hall.
