Volume 4, Now a To Alt It gives me a great deal of pleasure to extend congratulations to every ' LongLac employee for efforts which have made possible the establishment of a new record of consecutive safe days without an on-duty disabling injury, The previous record of 130 days was broken at midnight last Saturday. The most important thing about the new record is the fact that not since early in January has any LongLac employes suffered an on-the-job injury resulting in lost time based on National Safety Council Standards. During this period, our people have worked almost half a million man hours and this is an achievement of which every- one may be proud, At the Accident Prevention meet- ing held last Friday, a new objective of A MILLION SAFE MAN HOURS was set and while such an objective is ambitious, it could be accomplished if every LongLac employee would work without a disabling injury until late September, about four months from now, I would, therefore, challenge each person on our LongLac Payroll to ex- ercise such caution in the performance of their daily duties as will assure a cont- inued safe operation of this project, If this is done, accidents will be eliminated and the MILLION SAFE MAN HOUR objective achieved, D, 0, Porter, Mill Manager. 0-0-0 NEVER TAKE SAFETY FOR GRANTED ee eee a vee BAY ~LongLac en Ss May 25, pall | - KIWANIS BRINGS FORT WILLIAM MALE CHOIR TO TERRACE BAY SATURDAY, MAY 26, Fresh from its annual concert held on April 20 in Fort William after which the eritics could use only superlatives in their description, the Fort William Male Choir will give a repeat performance at the Recreation Hall at 8 P.M, on Saturday, May 26, This group which has been singing in the Lakehead and district for 20 years, t brings a wealth of experience in the enter- tainment field to our town, for the enjoy- ment of all lovers of music.
