THE BABY SHOW Ensries for the Baby Show, to be held in the basement of St, Martin's Church, Saturday, May 26th, have been literally pouring in ~- in fact, the Committee advises that the list will be in excess of 50 when finally completed, all of which points to a very successfuly event, The latest in a long list of prizes is a Bottle Warmer - compliments of Bourke's Drug Store, Port Arthur and Fort William. Bourke"s also have arranged the loan of a set of Baby Scales to be used in the weigh- ing of the Babies. Johnson & Johnson Ltd, of Montreal have donated two "Babyland Cases" (consisting of a wonderfuly essorte ment of Aylmer Baby Foods, Truly, the res- ponse for prizes from the various donors has been beyond expectation and certainly some proud parents (as well as Baby) will benefit through the generosity of the donors, Prospective entrants are reminded that there is no fee charged for entering the Baby Contest, All you have to do is contact any of the following persons: Mrs, Mary Clare Kennedy - Dial 37 Mrs, Evelyn Falzetta a Miss Dorothy Daniels ~ Local 12 and give them your name and the age group your baby is being entered in, For the convenience of shoppers, a registration box is available at the Hudson's Bay office where your entry may be placed, 1g6 groups being judged are as follows: 2--- 3 years old at 2:00 p.m, Loe he " 2:30 pam 6 mos, - 1 year * 03215 pam. up to 6 mos, * 4100 p.m, Babies with colds or skin infections will not be allowed to enter, but this does not mean that a mild case of "sniffles" or a few mosquito or fly bites will not be tolerated, Mom is the best judge of what is a real cold or skin infection so don't keep Baby away for something that isn't catching, During the show, a case of Carnation Milk will be raffled off, compliments of Mr, Harry Lecky, Port Arthur representative, and not to be outdone, our own Hudson's Bay is providing all the Arrowroots Baby can eat, throw on the floor, or give away, while they're being 'tended to by the Baby Sitters, After all, if Mom and Dad can break off for Tea during the judging, then Baby too should have a little bite to cat, Speaking of Tea reminds us in turn of the gorgeous decorations that will be seen Page 5 you will want to drop in and view this ertistry, The entire scene will captivate your heart and the saying "Seeing is believing" will certainly apply here, Tea will be served all through the judging and a fee of ,50 cents is being charged for this service, In addition to a free Baby Sitting Service, Len Swirhun will be in attendance as official Photographer and will take pictures as requested for a nominal fee of 35 cents, (extra prints at 10¢ each.)
