Some ever been witnessed Bay 5 pin of the hottest bowling that has seen on the Terrace Bay Alleys was last Friday nite when the Terrace 411 Stars met a picked team from Schreiber in a challenge match, In the lst game, the All-Stars (whose combined averages are 986) amazed even themselves as they went way over their heads to put the match on ice by posting a score of 1353!!! This amounts to 270 (i!) average per man, That would be a whopping score even in a handicap ieagre while in scratch bowling it's nothing short of phenomenal, After that, things got back to normal and the final score ended up 3342 for Terrace Bay to 2976 for Schreiber, The Schreiber team never gave up and came through with a win in the last game, but the All-Stars' tremendous lst game was just too much to overcome, High man for Terrace was Howard Solly with 787, with Sax Lundberg right behind him with 783. High man for Schreiber was P, Leisander with 631, and H, Midkiff was 2nd with 603, The Schreiber boys kept pretty well together with all their scores 550 or better, High games for Terrace Bay were 341 for Solly and 325 for Sex, High gamo for Schroiber was 238 for Midkiff. Our best record to date was established back in 1949 when the totals reached 130 days involving 470,000 man hours, It just about goes without saying that almost everyone is talking about bettering the old record and this can be done by everyone working safely until a week from Sunday at midnight (May 20th). And then if we stretch the safe day total until the following Friday morning (May 25th) our safe man hour level will pass the half-million mark, an objective we have been shooting at for almost two years, With more than 600 employees on the Longlac payroll, it becomes increasingly important that we should all accept the fact that "SAFETY IS EVERYBODY'S BUSINESS" 0-0-0 BADMINTON TOURNEY SUNDAY AFTERNOON A challenge tournament between the Lekehead clubs and the local badminton clubs will be held at the Terrace Bay Recreation Hall starting at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 13.
