Se Page & SCHREIBER CONTINUL TION SCHOOL In a recent inspection of the Schreiber Continuation School, where approximately eighteen pupils from Terrece Bay attend, several points of interest were brought out, The Schreiber Board suggested that we publish a few items from the report which no doubt will be of interest. The following are quo- tations from the inspection report: "The school presents a cheerful and attractive appearance ond the provision of colourful pictures has contributed much to the pleasing impression which a visitor reeeived while in the building, The art work _of the students and the Camera Club pictures are also an important factor." "The possibility of providing additionel options and better facilities for secondary education is under consideration by the Board at the present time." "The enrolment of the school is steadily increasing and further increase is expected for the coming year. There is a considerable loss of students before the completion of Grade X due in all probability to the school's inability, under present limitations of staff and accommodation, to supply a sufficiontly diversified programme of studies." "The Principal and Staff are conducting a very extensive programme of extracurricular activities and deserve great credit for the very fine work," "The excellent training given through the Cadet Corps, Girls* Rifle Club, Camera Club, Music Club, Students' Council, School Paper, Commencement Exercises, Parents! Night, intra-mural and inter~school athletics, etc., is of great importance in the development of desirable traits of character and citizen- ship, * "The pupils have been encouraged to take pride in neatness and attractive appearance of their written exercises, Their writing is of good standard. The oral work was of average quality and the teachers are giving attention to the valuable training which good practice of oral response provides.™ 0-0-0 STORE CLUB Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Beggie Thorsteinson on the birth of a baby daughter on Friday, January 12th, Included in this week's Stork Club is a newcomer of interest to many of our local residents. .. daughter was born on Sunday, Januery 14th, to Molly Nelson (nee Phillips) daughter of our Mrs, I, Phillips, house- keeper of Hotel Terrace.
