Owing to favourable weather (unfavourable for bowling) and personnel away on holidays, team entries are not very encouraging. Once again, and for the final time the Executive extends the date up to Tuesday Sept. 19th, noon. Only those teams entered will be allowed to bowl in the Leagues, After this date, the Executive regrets to have to disappoint those wishing to, bowl - but this will be done. The Executive (a hard working bunch) has in mind for the Mixed and Men's Leagues, a 16 team league each with a 30 week schedule, whereby worthy monetary prizes will be dis- tributed to all teams as well as individuals. Once again, and in your interests either as a team or as an individual - the Bowling Executive appeals for your entry. The Leagues will get underway the week of Sept. 25th. Entries may be deposited in the Terrace Bay News Boxes at the Time Clocks in the mill, at the Hudson Bay Store, or left with Leon Checkryn at the Alleys, the Post Office, or with any member of the Executive. The Mill Engineering Department interested itself in the problem and after some invest- igation came to the conclusion that it might be a loose connection in high voltage lines. The Municipal Clerk immediately telephoned to the representative of the Department of Transport, the responsible Government agency 223 Kenogami Road. at the Lakehead, and a radio car has been promised for this week. Jim had worked faithfully as relief switch~- man in the Service Department since November 8, 1948, when the Mill started up. Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife, Dorothy MacMillan, ee resides in Hearst. 0-0-0 WELCOME VISITORS § Visitors to Terrace Bay this week were Miss Creedin, Assistant Superint ident of Ontario Society for Crippled Children and Mrs, Isobel Gleason, District Nurse for the Society. Miss Creedin was guest speaker at the regular Dinner Meeting of the Kiwanis Club on Tuesday last, and outlined in detail the work done by the Society. It was of great interest to all her listeners to hear of the very worthwhile work being done and to which end so many citizens of Terrace Bay have subscribed through the Easter Seal Campaign. Mr. Bert Larway, Secretary= Treasurer of Kiwanis Club of Port Arthur - Fort William was a guest of the Kiwanis Club at the Tuesday meeting.
