Entertainment Committee of Local 665 have put their heads together and | come up with the dandy idea of sponsoring a dance for the prime purpose of raising funds to purchase some playing equipment for use by the kiddies at the swimming pool. | It.is generally agreed that this is most certainly one grand idea and a real worthy cause, The members of the Committee are putting all that they have into this effort , and it is hoped that all residents that possibly can, will avail themselves of the | opportunity of getting out for a real evening full of fun and relaxation and at the same time be making a contribution to a ; worthy cause, The price of the tickets is reasonable, only $1.25 per couple, they are available from Bob Rickard, Jim Stewart, Ray Jones, Frank Burnell or Norval Banks and also at the Recreation Office, Music | for the evening will be supplied by Joe Adamo and his rapidly improving orchestra, that now consists of 7 pieces, Dancing will be from 10 PM till 2 AM, The | date? Work is expected to start shortly on the clearing of the area and just as soon as the equipment arrives it will be installed and put into use with the least possible delay, This area is located between the rear of the houses on MacDonald Ave., and the Highway. LABOUR DAY CELEBRATION Union Local 665 are readying plans to stage a Gala Celebration here in Terrace Bay on Labour Day. Present plans call for the activity to commence in the morning, with races and jumping contests, etc., for the children, The main attraction for the afternoon will be a ball game with a big dance in the Recreation Hall in the evening. Refresh- / ment and games booths will be open ; morning and afternoon at the Ball Park with the kiddies coming in for free treats and souvenirs. One of the highlights of the day's programme will be an outdoor boxing exhibition being put on by members of the Mohawk Club, All plans point toward a very enjoyable day for the local residents and just as soon as details are made certain they will be published in the News. 0-0-0
