Page 2 NAVAL RE-UNION PARTY Another meeting was held on Friday last at the Legion Hall and the first item of business was to change the date of our big "do te Saturday, June 17th. This was necessitated by the fact that our original date conflicted with that of the Kiwanis Concert to be held on June 10th, It has been finally decided to make this Re-Union - a true "Re-Union", That is, the entire evening will be strictly Stag, commencing with a Banquet at the Hotel Terrace sehed- uled for 1900 hours (note this has been changed from 1830 hours to allow Marathon and . Shereiber eligible to attend on time). The entire cost of this Re-Union is being borne by those eligible to attend and in this connection tickets are expected to be available by this Friday and will go on sale immediately at $3.00 each. This, of course, will include Dinner at the Hotel, Refreshments and Lunch at the Legion Hall after, Ticket sales will be handled by John Holancin with Bob Wallwin, Alex Chisholm and Eldon Marostica assisting, Please contact any of the aforemen- tioned for your ticket. Eligible personnel from Marathon and Schreiber will have until May 31st to obtain their tickets from Jim Cumming and Neil Ross, respectively, while local ex-Naval and Merchantmen(Peep Sea) personnel will have until June 10th to purchase their tickets. Ab- solutely no tickets will be sold after these dates, There still remains, however, a programme to be drawn up incorporating appropriate skits, songs, naval discipline, jokes and what have you. Anyone with some good ideas - willing to take on a little responsibility - are requested to get in touch with Eldon Marostica with a view to lining up a programme worthy of a Naval Re-Union, 0-0-0 PEEKIN' UP THE ALLEY Now that the Spring Leagues are well underway, here's a little re- minder to all captains in the Mixed and Men's leagues that no new players are to be added to your teams during the last three weeks of the league schedule. At the end of four weeks play in the Men's League, the Flying Saucers are really flyin' to hold the top spot with 58 points, followed by the Suds Slingers with 5Ls points, The Slingers got off to a good start in the first three weeks of play but slipped badly this past weck, (What is it fellas, too many Suds?) Alex Chisholm's Doe Heads are really knocking over the maples in expert fashion, in the past 3 weeks they have picked up the tidy total of 50 points. (15-17-18). The first week of play, Alex's boys made a little out- of-town trip which proved a little too much for them, as on their return they were only able to pick up just 3 points that night. However, they have mended their ways and now sit in 3rd place with 53 points, Lorne Peck's Horizontals are holding down fourth place with 42 points, If these fellas could just get their nights straightened out they'd be at the top of the league, but it seems as though they do all of their good bowling during open bowling, Jack Todd gets out to practise and rolls 350 and 337 then during league play, yes, you guessed it, he rolled 149 and 143! Esquires are coming along fast and must be watched. They are in fifth spot with 39 points, The League of Nations under John Holancin are in sixth spot with 36 points and they also will bear watching. The Strike Rollers have not been living up to their name and are in seventh spot, with 34 points. Garage Enterprise brings up the rear in eighth spot with 19% points, This team seems to have trouble with the red lights down in the pits or maybe they just like the sound of the bell.
